About The Teacher
John Moss was born and raised in Fort Wayne, IN. He earned a BA degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas where he performed with the Concert and World Percussion Ensembles, Concert Bands, and the world champion Indoor Drumline. Since 1997 he has worked in the Fort Wayne area teaching and arranging for Marching Bands and Percussion Ensembles, working with Jazz and Concert Bands, and teaching Percussion Classes. Currently he is a percussion specialist for Fort Wayne Community Schools, publishes original percussion music, teaches private lessons, and performs on percussion and drumset around the Fort Wayne area.
John teaches all areas of percussion including school band music, mallet percussion, all styles of drum set, and marching percussion techniques. He has years of experience working with students from a wide variety of age groups and ability levels.
Bachelor’s Degree: Music Education-Instrumental – University of North Texas
As a performer John plays drumset with several groups covering many styles of music from classic rock to vocal jazz. He also plays musicals and with area community orchestras.
