Kelly Vargas

At the age of 12, Kelly was singing and playing guitar to her favorite music while growing up in Long Island, New York. She grew up listening to classics of the 70’s and 80’s music era from her parents, but mainly it was the 90’s R&B, Pop, Alt Rock & Hip-Hop era that elevated her songwriting & love for music.

Since she was a child, Kelly was classically & jazz trained on vocals & was involved in music theatre throughout grade school. At the age of 17, that was when she started to pick up piano lessons & started to write her first few original songs on the guitar & piano. She later decided to pursue music composition & music production professionally & got into Berklee College of Music in 2015 & graduated in 2019 on a scholarship. Since her journey post music school, Kelly has performed in multiple parts of New York City, Long Island, Boston, Los Angeles & Valencia, Spain. Later she decided in 2020 during the pandemic to move to Los Angeles, California to further pursue her career as a recording artist, teacher, producer & songwriter for herself & other artists in the industry as well.

She has worked for teaching companies such as School of Rock, Guitar Center Music Lessons
Department, StrumClub and Kid Row Music Lessons both in New York and California locations
as well as her own freelance music lessons. She also graduated with a bachelor’s degree at the prestigious music institution of the world, Berklee College of Music in 2019.

With 3+ years of teaching, Kelly makes sure to provide with all of her students a unique,
tailored and hyper-focused lesson that is both educational, fun and interactive.
