Jolie Musique School Of the Arts

Policy and Terms of Service

Introduction

The following agreement is established between Jolie Musique School of the Arts (hereafter referred to as “The School”) and the cardholder paying for services provided by the school (hereafter referred to as “The Student”). This agreement will also apply, wherever eligible by law, to any other individual receiving lessons in the stead of the cardholder (i.e. their spouse, friend, relative, et cetera).

Trial Lessons

The Student is eligible for a single Trial Lesson before committing to a full session. The Student’s preferred time slot will be held in reserve for 24 hours after the trial lesson. After that time, The Student may reserve their preferred time slot, so long as it has not been occupied by someone else.

Registration

The School offers instruction on a rolling semester basis for private lessons in all instruments. The School also offers group classes and ensembles for various interests. Adults aged 18 and over may register for both private and group lessons.

All private lessons and group classes take place over Zoom only.

Lessons are scheduled with The Student Advisor or on your own, via our website, Joliemusique.com. The School recommends consulting The Student Advisor before paying to ensure that enrollment is completed correctly.

Payments

Payments are required to confirm registration; The School reserves no lesson times or class slots for The Student until either their one-time trial lesson is held or once payment has been made towards The Student’s tuition. Payment plan dates are set by The School and run automatically.

A $35 Late Payment Fee will be issued if an automatic payment is late. The Student has 24 hours to settle their account. After 24 hours, a $35 missed payment fee will be applied. Classes and lessons may be paused at The School’s discretion if payments are not received. Any lessons and classes missed during a pause for non-payment will be forfeited. Please note that if The Student has a past due balance, they will not be able to re-enroll until the balance is paid in full.

POLICIES

Consistent weekly lessons and classes are important for artistic growth and development. If a teacher is absent, they will schedule a makeup lesson with The student at an agreed-upon time.

Lesson Cancellations

The Student is responsible for attending all lessons. However, The Student is allowed TWO makeup lessons per semester. To qualify for a makeup lesson, cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Makeups must be scheduled within 30 days of the canceled lesson, or before the end of your semester, whichever comes first. Makeup lesson scheduling is done via JolieMusique.com/scheduling.

Lessons that fall on a one-day holiday may be rescheduled to a different day of the same week, with 24 hours’ notice.

Single lessons may be canceled or rescheduled via The Student’s account at JolieMusique.com/scheduling or via the confirmation and reminder emails for the appointment. The 24 hours rule applies.

Lateness

If The Student joins the lesson late, the instructor will only teach until the lesson’s scheduled endpoint. If 15 minutes of the lesson has passed, the teacher is not obligated to stay for the remainder of the time.

There are no makeups for group classes.

Discontinuation of Private Lessons

If for any reason, The Student wishes to cancel their enrollment in private lessons, they must contact their Student Advisor or [email protected] to provide notice 30 days prior. No refund will be given for prepaid lessons.

Jolie Musique School of the Arts reserves the right to dismiss any student at any time for any reason.

Temporary Pause of Lesson

The Student may pause lessons with two weeks’ notice. Any remaining lessons not used within six months of the date lessons are placed on pause are forfeited. No refunds will be issued for forfeited lessons.

Teacher Absences

The Student understands that teachers may be required to reschedule lessons due to illness, personal matters, and other reasons. Instructors will make reasonable efforts to follow the same standards regarding makeup lessons that The Student abides by, rescheduling on a date and time suitable to The Student.

Recorded Makeup Lessons

The Instructor may elect to record (with a web camera or similar device) a lesson to be viewed by the student, as an alternative to a makeup lesson in response to an absence on the part of the Instructor OR The Student. This recorded lesson need not last the full duration of a standard lesson but is intended as a supplement in cases where recorded makeup lessons are preferred by both The Student and The Instructor, or makeup lessons are not possible within the allowed time.

Schedule / Teacher / Instrument Change Request

If The Student wishes to make a change to their lesson plans regarding the date/time lessons are held, switch to a different instructor, change the duration of the lessons, et cetera, please contact your Student Advisor or [email protected]

Summer Policies

Those who wish to pause for the summer may do so by contacting their Student Advisor or [email protected]. If The Student has paused their lessons, they must still prepay their next session to reserve a date and time with their instructor for the upcoming semester. Time slots will not be reserved for The Student if they have not prepaid. Contact your Advisor for assistance with prepaying. All Summer workshops and camp programs we offer are not eligible for refunds. However, access to these programs may be transferred (or “gifted”) to another student, with approval from The School. Lessons can be rescheduled to other dates and times, so long as they are available for the given program. Please notify The School regarding such a change.

Group Class Policy

Group classes that are charged on a monthly basis and are recurring until cancelled. Students must contact their Student Advisor or [email protected] to cancel their membership 30 days prior to stop date. No refund will be given for prepaid classes.

Group class installment payments: By submitting a first payment for a package, the Student agrees to pay all remaining installment payments according to their purchased package. The student authorizes The School to charge their chosen payment method.

Makeup classes: A student may attend a different class session of similar category (ex; Jolie Kids!) of classes if they are unable to attend their regular class time. However since space is limited, the student must “reschedule” to their desired makeup class time via their scheduling account on JolieMusique.com.

Class change request: Students may request a change of class section or subject by contacting [email protected]

Group classes are non-refundable. Classes purchased by The Student may be gifted to another student with approval from The School. Contact us at [email protected] for a request of this nature.

Notice of Changes in Agreement

We may, at any time, and at our sole discretion, modify these Terms and Conditions of Use. Any such modification will be effective immediately upon public posting. Your continued use of our Service and this Site following any such modification constitutes your acceptance of these modified Terms.
